Making sure their products are environmentally friendly at every stage of their life cycle is one of Skoda's top priorities. This is how they're doing it;
- Recycle as much as possible. Škoda parts are marked so they can be quickly and easily identified when the car is taken apart, or should groups of parts get separated. They’re also designed for fast, easy dismantling when the car reaches the end of its life cycle.
- They use the latest, most environmentally-friendly manufacturing technologies and facilities available. For instance, to protect the cars’ painted areas against corrosion, they insist on leadless cataphoresis* (KTL) and waterbased colours. They do everything possible to cut fuel consumption and emissions in both their petrol and diesel engines. They minimise the frictional loss in wheel traction to make their vehicles as aerodynamic as possible and parts lighter, all so less energy is used.
- They take steps to ensure no fluids escape, whether during the manufacture of the car, while it’s being used or during servicing. All our vehicles meet the laws and guidelines for the protection of the environment, both land and water.
- Finally, by using the most modern analytical methods and follow-up measures, they also lower noise levels and improve sound quality in their cars.
