Until Navara, the words pickup and driver satisfaction didn’t belong in the same sentence. All that has changed. With a new 2.5 litre common rail diesel engine, Navara muscles to the front of its class for performance.
The second generation common rail turbodiesel uses a variable nozzle turbo and intercooler to produce an impressive 174HP and a huge 403Nm of torque. So not only does Navara outperform all of its rivals, it can carry over 1,070kg while towing up to 2,700kg. This power unit, with a 6 speed manual transmission, is standard. There’s also the option of a 5 speed automatic transmission.
What’s more in both Double Cab and King Cab versions, the Navara provides the largest load bed area in its class – more practical, with more space (well over a metre) between the wheelarches to accommodate bulky loads. With equipment levels that you’d expect from an executive saloon; Navara proves it’s possible to be tough without being rough.
