How?

To give a boost to the car industry during the current downturn, the Government has announced the introduction of a vehicle scrappage scheme.  This entitles selected vehicle owners to obtain a discount on a new car purchase when scrapping their current vehicle.

Who is entitled to this discount?

If your vehicle is over 8 years old and you have owned it for more than twelve months you will qualify for the discount.

When does this scheme begin?

The scheme launches mid-May.

When does this scheme end?

The scheme is available for a limited time only with the Government having set aside limited funding with funding matched by participating manufacturers. Entitlements & Restrictions

Only one discount per vehicle
No restriction between scrapping car & purchasing van or vice versa
Car or Light Commercial Vehicle not exceeding 3.5 tonnes. (N1 class)
Old vehicles must have a current MOT test certificate
